Wordless Wednesday

  1. Interesting...I had not heard of this, though Kirtland AFB is a few minutes away. One uncle of mine is still alive, a Pearl Harbor survivor; always amazing to meet a WWII vet these days.

In fact, walking through the SA airport was quite an interesting experience for me with all the current military in and out of there. What different things and trials they head towards, compared to my trip.....

  2. When I heard about the wreaths I had to go and take photos.

Amazing about your uncle, there are fewer and fewer of them each day. A few years ago we had the privilege of being at Pearl Harbor on Dec. 7th for the ceremony. I'll find the pictures and post next year on the anniversary.

  3. I've been to a military funeral there. It was very emotional and memorable.

  4. The ceremony is quite moving, particularly for an active duty soldier. Usually well attended by local folks too, no strangers in military life.

There were three funerals during the short time I was there and it's pretty much like that most days.
