Return to Yeya's

It's been a while since we visited Yeya's,  one of my favorite places to hunt for garden junk.  With the weather a bit cool and wet for gardening it's a good time to add to the collection for the coming gardening season and take you on another tour.

I haven't shown you what's new for a while but doesn't mean I have been shopping Yeya's!  A cool cloudy day is the best time to visit and take photos because it can get very hot out here in the sun.

So what's new at Yeya's besides that bright pink wall?  Here are just a few of the things I found last week when I visited.

Iron baby bed

Faux bois always a favorite and this birdbath with planter is fabulous.

Another customer was seriously considering this yellow industrial cart at a fraction of the Restoration Hardware price.

Birdbath base studded with local karst stones.

Loved the piece of iron work next to it.  Another great faux bois birdbath behind the urn and plinth.

Need to get a closer look at that galvanized tank with the dent.  Nice thick steel and the patina is great.  I'm thinking that dent can be popped out, turned to the back or called "character".

These galvanized rings are waiting to be planted up with agaves.

Z for Zorro would be very cool for my garden.  (In Spanish, look it up here.)

Totally missed that "S" back by the wood doors until I saw the photo.

Great color on the vintage pink screen door. Pink and red for your valentine, just a little work and it would be good to go.  The piece in the foreground is a concrete statue mold of a woman holding a water vessel.

Table legs for future projects.

Mario has extra pieces of old glass available to fill in the empty panes on these window frames.

Always check out the selection of succulents currently displayed indoors in case of a freeze.

The variety is endless and always different.  Nice hood ornaments.

How about heart-shaped stepping stones for your Valentine?

Someone is a futbol fan.B

So what did I get?  That tank headed home with me along with a couple of vintage wire hanging baskets.

With Valentine's Day tomorrow, and on a romantic note, a local blogger chose Yeya's for her wedding ceremony a few years ago.  How fun is that?  Check out her post here.

There's always something fun at Yeya's!

  1. I was very excited when I saw the title of your post as there's always a lot of great stuff to see and drool over in your posts about Yeyas! How lucky that with your link, we got even more pictures of this great place. Thanks! Every time I see faux bois items, I think of you! Most recently, a bench was featured in one of the gardens at the Northwest Flower and Garden Show.

    1. And I thought of you when I saw how many old doors he has in stock right now! I do go a bit nuts about faux bois in the garden. Can't wait to see your posts from NWFGS.

  2. Oh wow. I love going to places like that. I assume it is in San Antonio?

  5. What a fun place to visit - or, for that matter, to work in. I loved that stone-studded birdbath. Your take-aways are great too but I think you should have added the Z for Zorro!

  8. I love the old stock tank, but I'm wondering how you manage such amazing restraint. I picked out several more things for y/our garden ... :-) I didn't think I'd buy anything when I went there with you the first time, but then couldn't get all my 'finds' into my SUV with the seats down ... lol.

Is the other place with 'pig' in the name still in operation?

  9. And I was planning a S TX / beach trip, but without San Antonio in it. May need to rethink that, just to visit Yeyas. Something there for everyone, though I'm not into salvaged garden art too much. The faux bois less, the metal more (including stock tank you bought)...I vote for leaving the dent / character!

The Z...oh yes, I hope that finds its way into some place in your garden spaces, somewhere.

  10. South Texas beaches are fun--after the spring breakers leave. You don't have a lot of space right now so can imagine it's more fun to look at ideas.

  11. A junkyard wedding: what could be more romantic than that?

  12. Glad you got the stock tank and also think you need a few of those galvanized rings.

  13. Don't know about a junk yard wedding but i dig your stock tank selection. Maybe you can start your own waterhole...

  14. Oh I could spend a long time and loads of money there needing a truck to haul it all....
