A few weeks ago David of Tropical Texana posted results of testing free online collage formats. One of his collages reminded me of my favorite effect in Fotoflexer. It's the "pop-art" effect which will turn your photos into a Andy Warhol style masterpiece in seconds. I played with several photos and my favorite is this agave.
Printed out on poster paper or canvas it would be a fun piece for a wall.
Here's the original photo which was taken with the camera on monochrome setting. Simple lines with contrast work best.
The pop art effect is set with fixed colors so you can't change them. If you have plenty of time on your hands you could use any photo editor to select areas of your photo and choose your own colors. I'll stick with the easy Fotoflexer version and it's free, just sign up.
Monday fun for January.
Cool effect Shirley. One of these days I'll have to figure out how to use image editing programs but for now, I just shoot and publish. It would be fun to play with pictures.
ReplyDeleteThis was super easy. Most photo editors have automatic settings. I find editing easier than posting, so if you can post a photo you can edit it.
DeleteThat is a brilliant effect. Thanks for sharing the free program. That's something I would love to try.
ReplyDeleteIt's fun to play around with all the options now and then.
DeleteThat's a great effect, really nice, I have tried something similar in Photoshop :-)
ReplyDeletePhotoshop is great too, I tend to stick with free options for now.
DeleteFUN! but what's even better is your amazing agave!
ReplyDeleteA. ovatifolia is just perfect in that spot. It's a great plant for our climate. I think it is hardy too.
DeleteIt should be plenty hardy for you guys. I grow agave ovatifolia up here and it doesn't seem to be bothered by our cold.
DeleteThat's good because we do get surprisingly cold on occasion.
DeleteHey, thanks for mentioning me and thanks for finding another online source for photo shopping. That makes 4 and each one is wonderful and useful in their own way. This was a great shot of your agave and would make great wall art for a hallway. If you did a couple of more plants you'd have a very cool collection to enjoy.
ReplyDeleteHave fun! David/:0)
You are most welcome David. I use several different online editors depending on my task.
DeleteA series would be a great idea.
I'll take one for my living room wall please! ;) Can't wait to play around on the site! Thanks for the tip Shirley. :)
ReplyDeleteYou just created a whole new crop of modern artists!
ReplyDeleteThat's a great idea! I don't even know which plant I'd choose right now:) Probably the San Pedro Cactus:) Very cool.
