I love Mockingbirds. Growing up, we had a pair that would migrate through every spring, and would stay around our house for a few weeks...it was always a treat to get serenaded while working in the garden :-)
They do love an audience. When I'm in the garden one will often sit on a tree nearby and keep looking down to make sure I'm paying attention to his singing.
Wonderful pictures of this sweet-looking bird :) We don't have them where I live but I will go and find a recording of their song to listen to right now!
Thank you, I enjoy working at it. The camera is a Canon EOS used with the telephoto lens. Mockingbirds are friendly with people and don't fly away as quickly, especially when beautyberries are available.
They sound like fun birds. We don't have them here either. Your pictues are wonderful as always. RETIREMENT? How did you do that at 29? Lottery win? Oil stirke in your former garden?
I'll need to look up the patterns of the mockingbird. They do head north in the summer and now I wonder where they go. They are great mimics and that includes many of the sounds of modern life.

DeleteHow wonderful is the age of digital photography? Some of us remember when it wasn`t this easy. Great shot !
ReplyDeleteIt does make taking lots of photos easy and only pixels go to waste if they don't work. Retirement makes patience easier too.
DeleteNice shots!
ReplyDeleteThank you Heather!
