Garden Bloggers Bloom Day - December 2011

It's been raining for a week here so these are somewhat soggy blooms, but we can't complain about the rain.  There have been a couple of frosty nights, but no hard freeze yet.

Abutilon 'Bella Orange' is still blooming

Four nerve daisy is a bright spot in a week of cloudy days

Blue Hill Salvia has a few blooms after hibernating all summer

Red and Yellow Shrimp plants still going

White lantana

And the umbrella plant in the pond with its tiny flowers

The pond plants are really pleased with this weather as we use only rain water for the pond.

Join Carol at May Dreams Gardens and other garden bloggers to see what's blooming in our gardens today.

  1. You still have a lot of lovelies blooming! I especially like the shrimp plants. I've never grown them, but my mother (in Corpus Christi) always had them and they occupy a soft spot for me. The Blue Hill salvia is nice--I'm not familiar with it. I love blues in the garden.

  2. Thanks Tina. I have three shrimp plants and they were all passalongs from local garden friends. Not even sure if I've seen them for sale. The Blue Hill salvia is a big box store plant that does well in spring and fall but wilts in the heat of summer.

  3. Hi Shirley. Just found you! Fellow blogger here from the northeast Long Island. Nice blooms in your gardens. Happy GBBD!

  4. Thanks for stopping by Lee. I enjoyed visiting your blog too!
