The inflorescence from ornamental grasses are standouts when droplets from the light mist make them shine. This unknown Penstemon seeded over from the neighbor's landscape several years ago and has made itself at home.

DeleteBeautiful grasses - so lovely with the raindrops on them!
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful week-end!

You too Lea!
Delete"Clammy weed with wet whiskers" -- making light of miserable weather seems to help.
ReplyDeleteIt's funny but we enjoy the damp if not the cold that came with it.
DeleteI love the glisten on the grasses with just a little rain - we got a bit of drizzle yesterday too. Happy GBBD Shirley!
ReplyDeleteYay for drizzle in your parched area. I hope you get rain this year.
DeleteLove all those photos with the glisten of drops! Glad you're getting some moisture and that you didn't freeze yet. I know it's not really that early, but it feels early. That Purple Salvia Amistad is beautiful. I know you've written about it before. Have you been happy with it? Happy blooms!
ReplyDeleteI like the Salvia Amistad and it has grown and bloomed beautifully through the summer. This will be its first winter so I will let you know.
DeleteMy muhly grass is going to need to bulk up a whole lot before it has that kind of presence. I'm looking forward to it.
ReplyDeleteThose have been in place for about three years and have been happy in the full sun.
DeleteThe ornamental grasses are so pretty with the misty rain on them! Lovely photos. Happy bloom day!
ReplyDeleteIt's interesting because a heavy rain will weigh them down but this mist just made them sparkle.
DeleteWhat a lovely, wet, collection of Bloomday photos! "Clammy weed with wet whiskers" had me smiling.
ReplyDeleteGlad I could give folks a few smiles today as bad weather spreads across the country.
DeleteThey certainly look pretty with mist on them!
ReplyDeleteYour grasses look lovely in the rain .... from where I'm sitting anyway! : )
ReplyDeleteThese are all gorgeous, but that one shot with the white cloud muhly, gomphrena, cosmos and Duelberg salvia is an extraordinary photo. I sat and honestly got a little lost looking at that one. Really nice.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful photos, the grasses look so striking in the rain and you have so many plants unknown to me. Loved the strawberry looking flowers (brackets?) and the white cloud of grass. Happy GBBD!
ReplyDeleteSome plants are made to be photographed in the rain - and what a brilliant job you did of capturing them!
ReplyDeleteI love your wet, soggy garden...it is so vibrant and beautiful!
