Like most of San Antonio our neighborhood lights up for the holidays. The mild weather makes it easy to get out and decorate.
This house is a favorite
The luminarias ringing the lawn and across the wall of the courtyard are simple and inviting. These are reusable and durable luminarias which are easier and safer than the traditional paper and candles.
I am loving all your posts with the holiday lights - just gorgeous! You are good taking those pictures and capturing the light! :) Happy Holidays Shirley!
Luminarias have always fascinated me. Something about the simple beauty and easy assembly (of the old-fashoned, dangerous ones) is a thrill. They aren't used much here because of the wind and rain that we get this time of the year.
The wind and rain mentioned by the outlaw are kicking up a fuss right now, so I am especially enjoying the luminarias in this post. We might get away with them of an August evening.
What a beautiful place! The candles are fascinating! In addition to the previous post, you have wonderful places in your neighborhood. Oh, I'm on Pinterest, but don't pinn any images lately. I love your tillandsia wreath:) Succulent ribbon is lovely!
I love the new lumanarias that are flameproof. Brighter and safer. Thanks for sharing the holiday lights. Really enjoyed the Alamo posting and your families history with the area.
When I saw the title I thought some massive displays were in order so I love the simplicity shown here. But I think it would be truly beautiful if they nixed the sign and had only luminaries if you ask me.

ReplyDeleteThank you all for your lovely comments! Happy Holidays to all.
ReplyDeleteAussie: It's all about the context. The sign is part of the deal and not at all out of place.
