Around the Block: ¡Feliz Navidad!

Like most of San Antonio our neighborhood lights up for the holidays.  The mild weather makes it easy to get out and decorate.

This house is a favorite


The luminarias ringing the lawn and across the wall of the courtyard are simple and inviting.  These are reusable and durable luminarias which are easier and safer than the traditional paper and candles.

    Luminarias have always fascinated me. Something about the simple beauty and easy assembly (of the old-fashoned, dangerous ones) is a thrill. They aren't used much here because of the wind and rain that we get this time of the year.

    I love luminarias around our place. It's not tacky and adds a whole lot of charm to the neighborhood:)

    The wind and rain mentioned by the outlaw are kicking up a fuss right now, so I am especially enjoying the luminarias in this post. We might get away with them of an August evening.

    I love the new lumanarias that are flameproof. Brighter and safer. Thanks for sharing the holiday lights. Really enjoyed the Alamo posting and your families history with the area.

    When I saw the title I thought some massive displays were in order so I love the simplicity shown here. But I think it would be truly beautiful if they nixed the sign and had only luminaries if you ask me.
