I'll try watering the Dietes more next summer to see if that's the issue.

Tina - Cat at The Whimsical Gardener has a Brugmansia photo on her blog this week too.

Mandy - So nice you dropped by, I look forward to checking out another San Antonio blog. The Botanical Gardens usually has a large pink Brugmansia along the walk just past the gift shop/gate area so you probably did see it there.

LR - Thanks, they are usually reliable and easy to grow except in years like this.Shirley Foxhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12734806779997587008noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6808857981868159973.post-58810796103572546462011-11-27T21:13:24.843-06:002011-11-27T21:13:24.843-06:00They really are beautiful. The past two winters have been too cold and they struggled. This year they will be wintered over on the deck with a few other plants. It's a common practice here because of the short duration of our cold fronts.Shirley Foxhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12734806779997587008noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6808857981868159973.post-88750783905866116272011-11-26T09:37:04.127-06:002011-11-26T09:37:04.127-06:00Pretty flowers.
