The rose bowers are way cool but they sort of jump out as alien against the rest of the traditional setting. outlawgardenerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08273973572989510382noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6808857981868159973.post-29899271887341611172015-08-01T17:09:53.315-05:002015-08-01T17:09:53.315-05:00What a lovely place, I can imagine it being popula...What a lovely place, I can imagine it being popular with weddings with those arches and that pretty chapel. The prairie landscape there does set a tone, as did the woodland / upland prairie brush of the former SA location I got to see a decade ago. I wonder if that plus time period, is the reason for less natives in Brenham. Such a striking juxtaposition between modernism and tradition. If one of those mysteriously appeared here I'd know just what to do with it!

Thank you for the extended tour, ma'am! It was especially interesting to hear your comparison between the two sites, though very sad one is closed now. It seems to happen all too regularly lately - a nursery closes and an entire area loses a great source for plants and gardening supplies. I don't like it!TexasDebhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11214888876514137890noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6808857981868159973.post-58119106188873202882015-07-21T17:48:30.661-05:002015-07-21T17:48:30.661-05:00I did wonder about that Kris, it does seem that ro...I did wonder about that Kris, it does seem that roses are a natural choice for these.Shirleynoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6808857981868159973.post-87480034319455999752015-07-21T16:27:17.235-05:002015-07-21T16:27:17.235-05:00Those rose supports look very much like some in th...Those rose supports look very much like some in the gardens of the Getty Museum.
